Location: UK-based (Remote), with 20-40% travel to EuropePay: Day rate outside IR35 or FTC, DOEDuration: 6 Month initial contractObjective:This role supports a wider programme driving transformation within the pharmaceutical manufacturing network. Reporting to the Programme Manager, the successful Project Manager will lead the consolidation of warehouse facilities across Europe, focusing on operational improvements and process harmonisation.Key Responsibilities:Project Leadership:
- Manage the full lifecycle of warehouse consolidation across Europe, including planning, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and execution.
- Optimise layouts, workflows, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) as part of the transformation.
- Develop informed project plans evaluating scope, deliverables, timelines, and interdependencies.
- Align updates and recommendations within feasibility steering processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure warehouse consolidation adheres to Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards and other relevant regulatory guidelines for Pharmaceutical products.
- Engage cross-functional teams including supply chain, manufacturing, quality, logistics, and IT while managing external vendors.
- Communicate progress and risks concisely to steering committees and senior leadership.
- Facilitate workshops to ensure stakeholder alignment and change acceptance.
- Define KPIs related to consolidation success, operational readiness, and process efficiency.
- Provide regular programme updates, dashboards, and risk tracking/assessments.
- 7-10 years of project management expertise in warehouse/logistics operations or supply chain transformation.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale consolidation projects, including vendor contract negotiation.
- Experience with WMS implementation, upgrades, or optimisation.
- Proficiency in tools such as MS Project and demonstrated stakeholder management capabilities.
- Pharmaceutical or GDP compliance experience preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse and distribution best practices within the life sciences industry.
- Sustainability efforts in logistics or facility consolidation are advantageous.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in logistics, supply chain, engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or MSP are essential; others related to warehousing/supply chain optional.
