- Publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Demonstrable ability as a teacher with evidence of training for the role
- Experience requisite to meeting all aspects of the job plan
- Understanding of all aspects of specific focus of role
- Five years supervised training in an appropriate higher specialist training scheme or equivalent training programme
- Full and specialist registration (and a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC) (or eligible for registration within six months of interview)
- Haematology Specialist Registration or applicants that are UK trained, must be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview (applicants that are non-UK trained, will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT)
- Fellowship of Royal College of Pathologists or show evidence of equivalent qualification
- Membership of Royal College of Physicians or show evidence of equivalent qualification
