A catalyst for change.This opportunity is within our Digital and Technical Service, which is responsible for the University’s use of digital systems and services that support teaching and learning across our campuses. As part of the network and infrastructure team, you will collaborate with a variety of teams gaining technical knowledge and experience with a wide number of Cisco enterprise networking technologies. On a day-to-day basis you will be undertaking
  • Provide first line technical and user support.
  • Use network management systems software and appropriate analysis equipment to collect routine network load statistics, model performance, and create reports as required.
  • Carry out routine configuration/installation/ reconfiguration and updates of hardware and software. Removal of hardware and / or software.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve network problems, escalating when required and documenting results.
  • Contribute to the development of installation and recovery procedures and standards.
We are looking for curious and daring individuals with a passion for technology to join us within Network & Infrastructure team in the role of Network Engineer apprentice. You will earn whilst you learn, on our , with release from your role to attend lectures and study weeks with approximately 80% of time working and 20% studying.To be successful in this role you will need an interest in computer networks, have excellent problem-solving skills and good attention to detail. Studying for a degree whilst in full time employment is hard work, you will need a positive professional attitude, good organisational skills, and a strong work ethic to achieve your goals.
