London Northwest University is committed to transforming Cancer Services.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 8A, Macmillan Trust Lead Nurse for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT). We are looking for an innovative and inspirational SACT cancer nurse leader who is passionate about making a difference to both patients and staff.You will play a pivotal role inreviewing and developing SACT care pathways to meet the needs for patients and to identify areas where specialist nursing input may be optimisedwhilst delivering compassionate, quality cancer care within a busy NHS Trust.A key aim of this role is to ensure that the National Standards for SACTs are implemented and guidelines in relation to the safe administration of Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) are adhered to throughout the Trust.With the launch of our updated Cancer Strategy we are developing our day unit SACT service to be nurse delivered across the pathway including developing roles that encompass extended practice supported by appropriate education. You will work alongside our Consultant Nurse Chemotherapy, ANP and Chemotherapy Day unit manager to develop an environment that provides safe and responsive care.   • Registered Nurse on NMC register.
  • Nursing degree in a cancer related subject
  • Specialist post registration qualification in cancer related subject (oncology / malignant Haematology)
  • Recognised SACT/Chemotherapy Qualification level 6 or above
  • Evidence of continued Professional Development
  • Master's level qualification / able to demonstrate equivalent experience or willing to work toward.
  • Hold UKONS chemotherapy passport

  • oAdvanced Assessment skills
  • oAdvanced communication skills training
Knowledge and experienceEssential
  • Extensive post registration experience relevant to the SACT setting at Band 7 or above
