- Registered Nurse NMC Level 1 or Level 15
- Relevant post-registration programme
- Honours Degree in Nursing, midwifery, research or ethics or equivalen
- Teaching/Assessment programme
- Leadership development programme
- Undertaking Masters level education or equivalent
- Substantial post registration experence including haemato-oncology
- Experience in senior nursing role (Band 6 upwards or relevant experience)
- Strong leadership skills
- Previous experience in a CNS role
- Extensive knowledge of haemato-oncology
- Understanding of myeloma and other plasma cell disorders and management of patients
- Demonstrates awareness of research and evidence-based practice
- Experience of leading service improvement projects from inception through delivery
- Presented at UK or international meetings
- Demonstrates awareness of the importance of working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Communicates effectively verbally, in writing and in electronic formats
- Able to negotiate effectively with different disciplines
- Communicates with patients and carers in an empathetic manner
- Demonstrates understanding of good practice in Customer Care
- Demonstrates evidence of professional development in line with KSF, maintains updated Portfolio
- Demonstrates experience and ability to educate others
- Experience in managing or mentoring junior staff
- Demonstratable understanding of the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion act and knowledge of the NHS obligations under the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duties
- Being familiar with, and adhering to Trust policies and guidance on infection prevention and control.
- Completing all required training and education (both via e-learning and face to face) on infection prevention and control.
- Including infection prevention and control as an integral part of your continuous personal/professional development and included in your annual appraisal
- Taking personal responsibility so far as is reasonably practicable, in helping ensure that effective prevention and control of health care associated infections is embedded into everyday practice and applied consistently.
