- Develop a strong understanding of M&G’s and Dai-ichi’s strategic ambition and value creation drivers for the partnership, as well as the business objectives of each joint initiative
- Grow and nurture a broad network of stakeholders and subject matter experts within M&G, to be able to seek out relevant subject matter experts in order to progress specific initiatives
- Facilitate cross-functional teamwork by bringing together relevant M&G stakeholders to progress initiatives at pace
- Update and present our partnership dashboard at weekly partnership project team calls with Dai-ichi. This includes developing and tracking key milestones and metrics as the scope of the collaboration expands
- Prepare status updates for executive-level Partnership Steering Committee meetings, CEO to CEO meetings and Board updates
- Capture and follow up on all action items, engaging with the relevant senior leaders on behalf of the Chief Transformation & Integration Officer
- Lead the preparation of executive-level visits to both M&G and Dai-ichi, working with the relevant GEC members and their teams
- Engage with M&G’s senior stakeholders, including our Chair and GEC members, to prepare the Board member’s induction plan and develop comprehensive briefing documents
- Once the Board member is appointed, engage with them to ensure that they receive the background information they need to understand M&G’s business model and strategy
- Seek to understand and share how each company operates and makes decisions, in order to enhance collaboration as stakeholders learn to work with their counterparts
- Detect and pre-empt possible misunderstandings about business matters, decision making processes, timelines etc., by developing a strong grasp of priorities and objectives on both sides
- Fluent in spoken and written Japanese
- Strong business sense: proven experience in developing a firm grasp of a business, its growth priorities, and how a partnership with a third party can support its ambitions
- Established problem solving skills: curious and intellectually agile, able to identify and analyse problems and pro-actively engage with relevant stakeholders and subject matter experts to address them
- Excellent interpersonal skills in a multi-cultural environment, combined with diplomacy and discretion
- Significant experience in engaging constructively at all levels of the organisation, building and managing strong relationships with other senior stakeholders, gaining trust and respect, and adapting to internal dynamics as required
- Ability to operate effectively in a complex, matrix environment
- Experience in financial services preferred but not mandatory
- Relevant degree or professional qualification
