Job PurposeThe Doctoral Training Hub (DT Hub) manages multiple Centres for Doctoral Training (CDT) and other funded cohort postgraduate programmes across the College of Science and Engineering. The DT Hub provides an innovative student and academic focused service providing end-to-end management and administration. We offer a flexible hybrid working model.The purpose of the role is to provide effective and efficient administrative support to the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Algebra, Geometry, and Quantum Fields (AGQ CDT) contributing to the enhancement of the student experience and ensuring the continued success of the College's ambitious doctoral training programmes.Reports to: The Deputy Doctoral Training Hub Manager (Line Manager) and provides direct support to the AGQ CDT Coordinator and Directors for specific doctoral training centre requirements.Main Duties and Responsibilities1. To provide dedicated administrative support to the AGQ CDT, postgraduate research students, and academic directors.2. To be the first point of contact for all student and staff queries relating to the AGQ CDT, including the management of the AGQ email boxes and to provide effective advice, guidance, and resolutions to enquiries.3. To be the key contact for HEI partners to support the service of the AGQ CDT.4. To use judgement, in a proactive way, to deliver a quality service to AGQ CDT students: answering queries, providing information and guidance, resolving issues and allaying concerns as they arise.5. To plan, coordinate and manage administrative activities that support the delivery of the AGQ CDT, including maintaining the calendar of events.6. To work as part of a cross-institutional team to support the ambitious delivery, management, and administration of the researcher development training programme for students including and supporting the registration and enrolment process and ensuring that all students are registered at all centre-specific HEI partners.7. To ensure an excellent service delivery to all students, staff and partners by drawing on expert knowledge and experience to problem solve and take accountability for issues that arise.8. To actively contribute ideas and initiatives that ensure an excellent student experience for the postgraduate research student community across the College.9. Working with the DT Hub Coordinators, DT Hub Senior Administrators, and Graduate School and DT Hub Events Coordinator to support events and conferences, and manage travel arrangements for students and external visitors.10. Support the DT Hub Coordinator in operational financial processes, including raising purchase orders, processing student expense claim forms and providing status reports as required.11. Support the administration of an effective recruitment programme, including operational aspects of application data processing, assisting in monitoring progress, maintaining the recruitment tracker database, and liaising with the graduate school.12. To manage records and files associated with the AGQ CDT and to ensure consistency of approach across all centres in the DT Hub, liaising with the Graduate School to ensure that changes to student records are made.13. Provide committee administration support as required. This will include the production and distribution of agenda, papers, and minutes.14. To update webpages, handbooks, and social media to support the centre specific marketing and communication strategy.15. Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Deputy DT Hub Manager and the CDT Coordinator.Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceKnowledge/QualificationsEssentialA1 Ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills through personal development and progression in a similar role(s).
