
HMC Team Lead

- Independently set up and operate all HMC machines
- Assist with material shortages
- Cover cells that are missing coverage
- Collaborate with supervisor to manage the scrap/rework process, ensuring parts requiring rework are completed or accurately documented with a scrap report in the system
- Update the schedule/production list and distribute work to the team as needed
- Train HMC team on new or updated processes
- Follow up on prototypes and high priority jobs.
- Focus on continuous improvement using process improvement tools such as 5S
- Ensure that the team follows all safety guidelines
- Operate machine/s while maintaining blueprint specifications
- Assist with checking coolant concentration and filling coolant water tanks.
- Perform initial inspection when needed
- Troubleshoot any issues on HMC machine
- Assist HMC team with any issues
- Assist with process improvement tools, such as DOE
- Maintain a clean work environment
- Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations
- Use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and instructed
- Host tier meeting/ update tier board
- None
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds without assistance
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to load/unload machines (requires repetitive lifting and bending)
- Majority of the work time is spent in a manufacturing environment where temperatures are often warm or cool, depending upon the season, and noise level can be moderate to high
- PPE required as determined by company safety standards: safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, safety shoes
- High School diploma or equivalent, required
- 5 or more years of experience as a CNC machinist with manual machining experience
- Demonstrated ability to setup and troubleshoot all HMC machines
- Ability to work with a strong sense of urgency to complete tasks
- Ability to read, communicate, and explain required documents for production process and other company communications in English
- Ability to develop and or improve processes on new or existing parts with a complete understanding of machining fundamentals and practices
- Ability to use all relevant measurement equipment
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions given in English
- Ability to meet quality and productivity standards
- Ability to read blueprints thoroughly
- Computer skills, intermediate knowledge Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work as a part of a team
