IslingtonWe are working with a small design studio as they look to hire a Senior Designer to work closely with the owner of the company and run projects and teams.This company is seeking a well-presented, professional, and calm Senior Designer with the confidence to lead and delegate with kindness, even under pressure. You’ll be client-facing, passionate about art, design, and sustainability, and able to bring a positive energy.
You will work closely with our designers and directors to lead projects from concept to completion.ResponsibilitiesLead projects and a small design team from concept through to completion, including client presentations and site meetings, while preparing design development presentations and documentation. Produce technical drawings for interior architectural elements using AutoCAD, research and source FF&E, and design bespoke solutions such as furniture and products tailored to client interiors. Oversee procurement, budgeting, and the installation of projects to ensure successful delivery from start to finish.Key Attributes & CapabilitiesThe ideal candidate will have proven experience as a Senior Interior Designer on high-end, luxury residential and commercial projects, with a strong passion for sustainable design and a clear understanding of their aesthetic. They will possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a growing team, while also being comfortable working independently to take concepts from inception through to delivery. A lateral thinker with creative problem-solving abilities, they will be proactive in sourcing innovative suppliers and expanding their sustainable materials library. Exceptional attention to detail, both in design and day-to-day tasks, along with strong skills in managing project budgets and working on-site with contractors to ensure high-quality execution, are essential attributes for this role.Qualifications & ExpertiseThe ideal candidate will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Interior Design and have over five years of senior-level studio experience. They will be proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), and SketchUp, with strong skills in producing technical, tender, and joinery drawing packages.
