1:1 ASC Specialist Teaching Assistant – Full Time
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (term time only)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term (linked to pupil funding)
Salary: Dependent on experience and qualificationsWe are seeking a compassionate, dedicated and knowledgeable 1:1 ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our warm and inclusive primary school in Wellingborough.This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a child with a diagnosis of ASC, supporting their learning, communication, and emotional development in a nurturing and structured environment.Key Responsibilities:Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with ASC throughout the school dayImplement strategies to support communication, social interaction, and sensory regulationWork closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals to deliver individualised support plansPromote a positive and inclusive classroom environmentSupport the child during unstructured times (e.g. break, lunch) as neededWe are looking for someone who:Has experience supporting children with Autism, ideally in a school settingDemonstrates patience, empathy and a calm, consistent approachUnderstands the principles of structured teaching (e.g. TEACCH, visual supports, sensory strategies)Can work flexibly as part of a supportive teamIs passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and thriveWe can offer you:A supportive and welcoming school communityA committed team of staff and senior leadershipAccess to relevant training and development opportunitiesThe chance to make a lasting difference in a child’s lifeIf you would like to apply please email your CV to:All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position.
