Salary: Dependent on experience and qualificationsWe are seeking a compassionate and experienced 1:1 Non-Verbal Specialist Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support to a pupil with communication difficulties in a nurturing primary school environment in Corby.This is a vital role working closely with the child to support their communication, learning, and social development.Key Responsibilities:Provide one-to-one support for a pupil who is non-verbal or has significant speech and communication challengesImplement tailored communication strategies such as Makaton, PECS, or other augmentative communication systemsWork closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external specialists to deliver personalised learning and behaviour plansPromote inclusion, independence, and confidenceSupport the pupil throughout the school day, including unstructured timesWe are looking for someone who:Has experience supporting non-verbal children or those with complex communication needsIs skilled in or willing to learn alternative communication methods (e.g. Makaton, PECS)Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a calm, consistent approachWorks well as part of a team and communicates effectively with staff and familiesIs passionate about helping children overcome barriers and achieve their potentialWe can offer you:A welcoming and supportive school communityAccess to relevant training and professional development
