Salary Scale: £83 - £100 per day
Start Date: September 2025GSL Education are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant to work at a thriving Primary School in York, North Yorkshire, starting n September 2025.Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to a student in Year 2 with additional needs, helping them access learning in the classroom.
- Support the student’s social, emotional and behavioural development.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external specialists to deliver a tailored support plan.
- Create and maintain SEND friendly classrooms and teaching areas.
- Offer assistance to the student within and outside of the classroom.
- During group activities, ensure that the student stay on task, collaborate effectively, and resolve conflicts if arises.
- Experience supporting children in Primary Education, ideally in a 1:1 or SEN support role.
- Understanding of the Primary National Curriculum and strategies for supporting children with additional needs.
- Be aware of and knowledgeable about different additional needs such as ASC, ADHD, MLD and SEMH.
- Be able to quickly establish positive relationships.
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for a new one with GSL Education.
