This role provides the opportunity to deliver engaging sports sessions, support physical education programmes, and encourage pupils to lead healthy, active lifestyles.About the RoleAs a Sports Coach, you will plan, deliver, and supervise sports activities, coaching sessions, and extracurricular clubs. You will work closely with teaching staff to encourage participation, foster teamwork, and support pupils’ personal development through sport.Responsibilities of a Sports Coach:
- Deliver engaging sports lessons and coaching sessions to pupils of varying ages and abilities.
- Assist in planning and organising PE lessons and extracurricular sports activities.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and physical development through sport.
- Encourage teamwork, resilience, and fair play in all activities.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- Prepare and maintain sports equipment and resources.
- Supervise pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and school events.
- Participate in school sports days, competitions, and trips.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and support staff.
- Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all pupils.
- Experience working with children in sports or school settings.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills.
- Enthusiasm, patience, and the ability to motivate pupils.
- Relevant coaching qualifications or PE-related credentials (desirable).
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply via GSL Education.
