If so, SCP Transport & Planning - an RSK Group company - would love to hear from you!As our Associate Director you will possess the necessary experience, knowledge and technical expertise to act as direct client contact and project manager on each commission entrusted to them.You will have ability to think innovatively and proactively, and the role will require sound financial and project management skills to ensure that the firm's competitiveness in the marketplace is retained.You will also have the opportunity to provide essential support to the Directors for certain management, marketing and administrative roles that are essential to the smooth running of the business.Main Responsibilities:
  • To be the principal point of contact on all project-related matters and to provide expertise and advice in all aspects of highway engineering and/or transportation planning.
  • To bring together the necessary internal and external resources and skills required to fulfil the obligations of each commission to the budget and timescale agreed with the client.
  • To liaise/meet with other consultants and external members of the project team where necessary to ensure co-ordination of information and resources.
  • To liaise with the client to promptly report any issue arising during the undertaking of the project that has implications either to the brief or the timescale. Such implications are to be reported as variations and budget alterations are to be agreed with the client.
  • To ensure that the project is undertaken to the specified budget and that all project-related fees and disbursements are accurately recorded and expediently recovered.
  • To have a full understanding of all local and national planning policies and guidelines as far as they relate to transportation and development.
  • To have a full understanding of, ensure compliance with and assist in the upkeep and refinement of the company's Health & Safety Policy.
As part of this role, you will also have the chance to be involved in highlighting staff recruitment needs and to actively mentor and assist in the professional development of more junior staff, as well keeping up to date with all of the latest developments with respect to all the tools and techniques employed within the field of highway engineering and transportation planning.Person Specification & Experience:You will have the ability to manage time and work to strict deadlines, as well as hold excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. The ability to collaborate with key stakeholders and clients and lead on project related discussions will be a key part of this role.You will have extensive previous experience in understanding the principles and techniques of transportation planning and traffic engineering, and the planning system and development control process. Knowledge of local and national planning appeal processes would be essential.You will ideally have developed strong links with clients and have an established reputation for adding value to each and every instruction.Company Benefits:Not only will you be able to enjoy a hybrid working model within this role you will also be entitled to the below:
