The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong practical knowledge, mechanical aptitude, and a genuine passion for gardening and property upkeep. With several properties to maintain, attention to detail, time management, and trustworthiness are absolutely essential. A driving licence is required, and candidates must feel comfortable working independently as well as part of a broader estate team.Working as a Gardener and Handyman / Property Manager is a dynamic and hands-on role that requires not only skill but commitment and flexibility. The successful candidate will carry out a wide variety of internal and external maintenance tasks, as well as garden upkeep and light management duties. From hedge trimming and lawn care to plumbing repairs and liaising with contractors, this position requires excellent problem-solving skills, a can-do attitude, and a readiness to take initiative. Starting Date: Mid-SeptemberMain duties of the Full-Time Gardener and Handyman:
  • General property and grounds maintenance across residential and commercial premises.
  • Preventative maintenance, repair, and upkeep of both indoor and outdoor facilities.
  • Routine gardening: lawn mowing, weeding, planting, pruning, and hedge trimming.
  • Path clearing, garden bed care, and support with seasonal landscaping.
  • Basic handyman work: carpentry, decorating, minor plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Driving the principal and managing errands using the employer’s vehicle.
  • Managing contractors, organising maintenance visits, and supervising works.
  • Coordinating pick-ups, deliveries, and assisting with loading/unloading vehicles.
  • Working cooperatively with the estate’s wider team including domestic and gardening staff.
Requirements for this Full-Time Gardener and Handyman job:
  • Three or more years of proven practical experience in carpentry, decorating, plumbing, electrical work, and general repairs.
  • Experience in gardening tasks such as mowing, planting, pruning, and weeding.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Valid driver's licence with experience driving vans.
  • Two excellent checkable references.
  • Conversational English.
  • UK working permit.
