This is a crucial role that involves supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students remain on task with the pre-set work.   • Previous experience working with children or young people.
  • A full DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise students in the absence of their regular teacher.
  • Ensure students are engaged with and completing the set work.
  • Manage student behaviour in line with the school's policy.
  • Answer basic questions and provide support to students.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly learning environment.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns to the appropriate staff member.
  • Take the class register.
  • Foster a positive and respectful classroom culture.
  • Adhere to all school policies and procedures.
  • Provide feedback to the returning teacher on the class's progress.
