
Project Engineer - Water Industry

- Manage a project team to deliver work to clients.
- Guidance and support to less experienced colleagues working within your project team and beyond.
- Be able to present ideas and solutions clearly and concisely to senior team members and provide advice and support to less experienced colleagues.
- Meet all responsibilities as outlined in the RPS HSE policy and management systems.
- Participate in and/or lead any training and safety initiatives implemented by RPS.
- Be responsible for the delivery of multiple water quality projects for specific client projects in accordance with project objectives (which you have agreed with the Client), undertaking and leading processes in line with specific Client Standards and Specifications.
- Take responsibility for delivery of a large project and programmes of work including:
- Feasibility studies / options development.
- Scoping surveys and scheduling of work for survey teams and liaison during the projects.
- Plan and review Intervention designs and delivery
- Mange and review reporting process
- Proactively engage with stakeholders
- Action any changes that impact your projects which have been agreed between the framework manager and the client.
- You will be expected to demonstrate significant experience in an engineering background at either a consultancy, water company or regulator.
- Good understanding of the water industry, regulatory frameworks, water networks.
- Able to apply current engineering practice and stay up to date with engineering best practice across broad and specialised areas.
- You will have experience in resource utilisation management relating to project delivery management.
- You will be able to take on pragmatic views to further enhance the service we deliver.
- You will have a proven record of supporting the delivery of programmes of work to time, cost and quality in line with framework requirements and client specifications and manage change control (deviations), strategic risk and opportunities.
- Preferred experience in discipline-specific network applications.
- Ability to manage and manipulate large datasets, including time series data.
- Experience with GIS software (preferably MapInfo, ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Preferably degree qualified in a relevant technical subject. Postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
- Chartership or working towards chartership for Senior or Principal grades.
- Affiliation with a professional institution like IET, InstMC, or CIWEM, or in the process of working towards membership and nearing application.
- Proficient in MS 365 applications.
