A Steel Operative / Bander is required for a steel processing company based in the Dudley area of the West Midlands. It is a great opportunity to join a well-established, reputable steel company during a period of growth.This Steel Operative position is working on a temp to perm basis - with a permanent contract awarded after a probationary period. You will be operating cranes, driving FLTs, banding and more.Duties include:
  • Assisting with loading / offloading steel on machine lines
  • Banding, packing and palletising stock
  • Operating overhead cranes to handle steel
  • Driving counterbalance FLTs
You will NOT need an Overhead Crane licence, but experience of operating overhead cranes to handle steel is required.This position is working days and nights rotating weekly;
  • 6:00am - 2:00pm (Monday to Friday - mornings)
  • 2:00pm - 12:00am (Monday to Thursday - afternoons)
  • 40 hours per week with paid breaks
