This is a fantastic opportunity for a Design Engineer (Civil/Structural) to step into a role with real responsibility, working alongside senior engineers and directors, and directly engaging with clients on a variety of mission-critical projects.Why Apply?Join a thriving consultancy with a strong, secure order book.Get involved in diverse projects including bridges, depots, stations, drainage, and other rail and highways schemes.Excellent career progression opportunities with mentoring and development support.Be part of a collaborative, flexible, and people-focused culture.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and deliver civil/structural design projects from feasibility through to completion.Carry out structural analysis and design to Eurocodes and other standards.Produce clear technical reports, drawings, and specifications.Attend and lead client and multidisciplinary project meetings.Undertake site inspections and oversee testing and commissioning activities.Mentor junior engineers and ensure high-quality outputs.Ensure compliance with health & safety, CDM regulations, and quality standards.Act as CRE, CEM, or DPE/PE (where approved) on Network Rail or TOC projects.What We're Looking ForDegree or equivalent qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering (BEng/BSc, MEng, or HNC/HND with professional membership).Chartered or working towards Chartership (MICE/MIStructE).At least 3 years' experience in a consultancy environment.Strong technical knowledge of civil and structural design in rail, highways, or related sectors.Proficient in report writing, design software, AutoCAD/MicroStation; BIM experience advantageous.Confident communicator with the ability to liaise with clients and multidisciplinary teams.Flexible and willing to work occasional nights/weekends in a rail environment.BenefitsPrivate medical insuranceLife insurancePension schemeCompany eventsExcellent progression opportunities
