- Special Community Public Health Nurse - School Nursing (SCPHN - SN) or willingness to work towards.
- Evidence of Continual Professional development
- Mentorship Preparation or equivalent
- Registered Nurse (adult/child/mental health/learning disability)
- Special Community Public Health Nurse - School Nursing (SCPHN - SN) or willingness to work towards.

- Further post-registration training specific to candidate's background and experience; i.e. training in CAMHS models of care, or in neuro-developmental assessment
- Proven post registration experience relevant to secure and/or educational settings.

- Experience of conducting clinical audit activity
- Experience in working as part of an integrated team, alongside non-health employed colleagues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent Interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate in an effective way with people from a variety of backgrounds and different ages
- Skills in communicating with and engaging children with complex needs
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of team working.
- Ability to demonstrate essential leadership skills.
- Ability to reflect on clinical practice and to understand own limitations when dealing with emotive issues.
- Ability to act as a mentor / preceptor to students and newly recruited colleagues.
- Good computer literacy skills
