- Job Type: Hybrid (flexibility to work from home and attend the office weekly)
- Deliver legal support on complex issues under the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and Mental Health Act 1983.
- Conduct litigation and advocacy in courts and tribunals, including Court of Protection proceedings.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, statements, instructions to counsel, and settlement agreements.
- Advise on safeguarding, deprivation of liberty, ordinary residence disputes, and unpaid care home fees.
- Support the Council’s statutory and strategic functions through high-quality legal advice.
- Represent the Council at committees, boards, and external meetings.
- Mentor colleagues and contribute to training and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FCILEX with strong technical knowledge in adult social care law.
- At least three years’ post-qualification experience.
- Proven experience in community care law, litigation, and advocacy.
- Strong analytical and drafting skills.
