
Senior Process Safety Engineer (Chemical Engineering)

- Provide engineering design and technical advisory services to a diverse range of clients; ensuring all technical design work is completed in accordance with local standards and sound engineering principles;
- Provide expertise on process hazard analysis, including chairing HAZID and sometimes HAZOP studies associated with the team's projects and advising clients on needs for safety studies and contributing to and reviewing safety studies completed by contractors for compliance with requirements on behalf of our clients;
- Work with Process Safety professionals within the wider AECOM business to develop collaboration opportunities and enhance quality of service in this area for our clients;
- Take responsibility for the delivery of technical and other deliverables as part of projects on behalf of project managers within our own team and the wider AECOM organisation;
- Prepare and present bids and proposals including cost estimates and supporting materials;
- Work closely with project teams to ensure timely provision of coordinated and quality engineering deliverables;
- Actively foster and strengthen relationships with internal and external clients and suppliers; developing new relationships in the pursuit of winning work for the energy business;
- Coach, mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers empowering them to grow and develop professionally.
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering (or equivalent);
- Considerable technical experience in power generation, industrial process, CCUS and/or future fuels projects, preferably within a consulting environment;
- Demonstrable experience in process hazard analysis, ideally with formal training in delivering safety studies;
- Understanding of process safety regulations including COMAH and ATEX regimes, ideally with knowledge of how these apply to Hydrogen and derivatives.
