  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent UK teaching qualification.
  • A clear and up-to-date Enhanced DBS check.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Knowledge of the current UK science curriculum and exam frameworks.
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of scientific principles and the ability to convey complex concepts.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing engaging lesson plans.
  • Ability to create a safe and stimulating laboratory environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for fostering critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Skill in assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science lessons to students.
  • Facilitate practical laboratory work, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular and helpful feedback.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and orderly classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and develop innovative teaching strategies.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and wider school professional development opportunities.
  • Organise and lead enrichment activities, such as science clubs or competitions.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance and well-being.
  • Contribute to the school's extracurricular life.
  • Stay current with developments in science education and pedagogical approaches.
