  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A thorough knowledge of the current UK curriculum and examination boards relevant to Biology and Applied Science.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)
Skills
  • Excellent subject knowledge in both Biology and Applied Science.
  • The ability to design and deliver creative, engaging, and challenging lessons.
  • Proficiency in using a variety of educational technologies to enhance learning.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • The capacity to adapt lesson plans and teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.
  • A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
Responsibilities
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering high-quality and well-differentiated lessons.
  • Assessing student work and providing timely, constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student attendance and academic performance.
  • Providing pastoral support and guidance to students.
  • Managing a safe and productive classroom environment.
  • Contributing to the development of schemes of work and curriculum materials.
  • Collaborating with other members of the science department to share best practices.
  • Attending staff meetings, training sessions, and parent-teacher evenings.
  • Upholding the school's values and policies.
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities.
