
Machine Shop Supervisor

- Program, operate, and troubleshoot equipment including lathe, mill, saw, and laser engraver
- Oversee the creation/editing of shop orders and manage prioritization of daily workflow
- Print labels, stage work, and ensure timely completion of orders in coordination with other departments
- Support New Product Development (NPD) initiatives and special projects
- Enforce adherence to safety procedures and promptly report incidents
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work environments
- Perform hazardous waste coordinator duties and serve on Spill Team and Safety Committee
- Monitor, maintain, and facilitate the repair of shop equipment
- Control and audit inventory using ERP system (IFS)
- Execute inventory adjustments, labor entries, and shop order updates
- Maintain supply inventory and execute reorders as needed
- Develop and implement cycle counting schedule in collaboration with Finance
- Author and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with the Quality System and ISO standards
- Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve procedures
- Participate in investigations related to complaints, corrective actions, and engineering changes
- Supervise machinists and production personnel
- Provide training, mentoring, and performance evaluations
- Assist in recruitment and onboarding processes
- Promote a collaborative and value-driven team culture
- Associate degree or equivalent experience with a focus in science (e.g., chemistry or biology).
- 2-4 years of supervisory and production experience, with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with ERP systems.
- Dedicated to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
- Proficient in basic math.
- Skilled in interpreting safety rules, technical documents, and procedure manuals.
- Strong problem-solving abilities using written, oral, and visual instructions.
- Ability to identify metal alloys by physical characteristics (e.g., weight, color, hardness).
- Skilled in maintaining orientation of cast metal parts during production.
- Basic operation of CNC Lathe and Mill; experience with various alloys (Nickel, Magnesium, Zinc, Cast Iron) preferred.
- Certified Professional in Waste Management.
- Advanced computer proficiency, including CNC programming and Microsoft Office.
