Join our team and participate in the innovation that ensures the highest security and trust worldwide.Job Description At Ultra I&C's Cyber business we have an exciting opening at our Cyber Centre of Excellence in Maidenhead.As the Procurement Lead, you will have direct line management of the Buyers and support all purchasing activities across the company to enable timely and cost-effective delivery from the supply chain.Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain SC Security ClearanceKey Responsibilities:Obtain timely quotations from the supply chainPurchase and expedite materials of the correct quality, at the agreed price and to the agreed delivery scheduleWork to the MRP requirements and request quotations for needed itemsPlace purchase orders at agreed price with approved suppliers selected from approved supplier listing in the ERP systemInput and process purchase orders in the ERP systemObtain all necessary documentation and information to fulfil purchasing requirementsReschedule purchase orders as per MRP recommendationsLiaise with the Quality Department on supplier quality, returns and new suppliersResolve supplier invoice queries promptlyManage and mentor direct reports (Buyers) fostering collaboration, and driving performanceLiaise with Project Engineers and Project Managers to establish requirementsIdentify, onboard and develop new suppliersBuild and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with key suppliersAnalyse procurement data to identify trends, optimise costs and improve processesIdentify, assess and mitigate potential risks associated with procurement activitiesAdhere to security protocol when liaising with the supply chainMaintaining high ethical standards in all procurement activitiesPerform any other related tasks as specified by the Commercial DirectorRequired Knowledge, Skills and Experience:Essential:Proven experience as a successful buyerStrong supplier management skills, including monitoring KPIs and building effective relationshipsSecuring favourable terms and pricing with suppliersUnderstanding of export control regulationsProficient in MS OfficeGood organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and work independentlyAbility to change focus with the needs of the businessEffective communication skills with internal teams, suppliers, and other stakeholdersDesirable:Experienced working with export control regulationsPrevious experience in a lead procurement rolePrevious experience in Aerospace and Defence, or a related industryExperienced in purchasing metalwork and/or Cable & Harness assembliesWorked in a NPI environment, preferably low volume but high complexityQualifications:Degree in a relevant discipline including but not limited to procurement, economics, business, or equivalent experienceProfessional accreditation or certification in Supply Management (e.g. WCC or CIPS)#LI-DC1#LI-HYBRID#ICNoticeDue to the nature of the programs we deliver for our customers, candidates may need to obtain the relevant security clearance or handle export-controlled material as defined by the role's requirements.Our BenefitsEvery employee is critical to our success, and as such, we offer a range of flexible employee benefits, including:
