Type: PermanentAbout the RoleNavartis seeks a seasoned Senior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a top-tier main contractor. You’ll be pivotal in the full commercial cycle—from pre-construction estimating to final accounts—working on high-profile commercial and residential schemes. Expect to influence project delivery, client relationships, and mentoring junior staff.Key Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Surveying Director, Project Director, and Project Manager
- Collaborating with the Design Team to ensure project compliance with specifications
- Developing and maintaining client relationships to support ongoing project success
- Attending regular site and design meetings, and reporting on project status
- Reviewing tender enquiries and carrying out tender analysis
- Supporting estimation and tendering activities in conjunction with head office teams
- Negotiating project terms and fixed-price premiums
- Leading pre-award meetings with subcontractors alongside the construction team
- Managing subcontract procurement and on-site package monitoring
- Monitoring contra charges and notifying subcontractors accordingly
- Overseeing subcontractor re-measurements, interim and final account payments
- Issuing payment applications and processing payment certificates
- Managing variation logs and finalising variations with support from junior QS staff
- Preparing and agreeing final accounts at project completion
- Monitoring and reporting project costs using construction software
- Forecasting cash flow and providing monthly reports to accounts
- Staying up to date with industry developments and regulatory changes
- Supporting additional duties and special projects as required
