Job Category: Housing and Customer ServicesJob Description:About The RoleWe have a new opportunity for a talented Rent & Service Charge Officer to join our team in Oldham on an up to 12 month fixed term contract basis, working full time 35 hours per week.
Our operating hours are between 8am-6pm Monday - Friday and we currently operate operate a hybrid working style, where you will spend 3 days per week working in the Oldham office and the other 2 days working from home.Reporting to the Rent & Service Charge Manager, some of your duties will include:
  • Delivering an effective service charge accounting service across Guinness to meet legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Reviewing social, shared owner and fair rents in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements, liaising with operational teams as required.
  • Delivering accurate and timely service charge estimates and statement of accounts for all service charges, liaising with operational teams as required.
  • Monitoring actual performance of service charges against estimates, analysing variances, and taking corrective action, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of plans and timetables that ensure service is delivered effectively.
  • Exercising internal controls, highlighting errors, and taking action to rectify them where necessary.

You will not only have previous experience working in a rent & service charge or a finance environment, but you will also have great customer service skills and a willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done.You will also be able to demonstrate:
  • Experience of reviewing and analysing financial information and reporting on results.
  • Good attention to detail with ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Proven customer service experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communications.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
