A rapidly growing, purpose-driven start-up leveraging space technology for social and economic impact across the UK is seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join their innovative team and contribute to meaningful change through cutting-edge hyperspectral data analysis.The Opportunity:This is a critical role for an exceptional hyperspectral data scientist to immediately address key challenges in normalising machine learning efforts applied to satellite imagery. You will be instrumental in ensuring consistent and reliable performance across various datasets, enabling us to achieve our ambitious goals.This is a truly unique and exciting opportunity to contribute directly to a high-impact project and shape the future of their organisation.Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement advanced normalisation techniques for hyperspectral data from satellite imagery.
  • Optimise machine learning models for hyperspectral data analysis to achieve consistent standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data quality, calibration, and processing.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to integrate hyperspectral data into broader analytical workflows.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and methodologies for hyperspectral data analysis within the company.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Deep Expertise: Proven expertise in hyperspectral data processing, analysis, and machine learning applications.
  • Background: Ideally, experience with NASA, the UK Space Agency, or similar organisations focused on remote sensing and earth observation.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python), hyperspectral analysis software, and machine learning frameworks.
  • Problem-Solver: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of overcoming complex technical challenges.
  • Passion: A genuine passion for leveraging space technology to address real-world problems and contribute to positive social and economic impact.
