The school caters for children aged 4-16 with social, emotional and mental health needs.This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in supporting students both in the classroom and through more practical, active learning opportunities. It's a great fit for people who enjoy working dynamically, using energy, patience and consistency to help young people thrive.Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Encourage positive behaviour through effective strategies and de-escalation
- Support students to regulate emotions and build confidence
- Promote resilience, independence and life skills through varied learning approaches
- Contribute to outdoor learning, physical activities and enrichment sessions
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to maintain a safe, inclusive setting
- Experience working with young people with SEMH or additional needs
- Resilient, calm, and confident when supporting challenging behaviour
- Able to engage students through both academic and practical learning
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
- A background in youth work, coaching or support work would be beneficial
- Consistent long-term work with the option to go permanent
