Contract: Long-term to permanentThe RoleWe're looking for a committed Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, Ofsted-rated 'Good' school in Leicestershire. The school supports pupils aged 4-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, offering a supportive and structured environment where students can achieve their potential.This is a fantastic role for anyone who is enthusiastic, active and enjoys working directly with young people. This role would be a great fit for individuals with a background in education, youth work, sports coaching or care.What You'll Do
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs
- Use positive behaviour strategies to encourage focus and emotional regulation
- Support pupils in developing independence, resilience and social skills
- Assist with lessons, outdoor learning and physical activities where appropriate
- Build positive, trusting relationships that help remove barriers to learning
- Experience working with children or young people (education, sports coaching, youth work or care) is desirable
- Patient, energetic and resilient, with a calm and consistent approach
- Able to communicate clearly and build strong relationships with pupils and staff
- Passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people
- Supportive school team within an Ofsted-rated 'Good' environment
- Access to free CPD including SEMH awareness and behaviour management training
- Stable, long-term role with the chance to become permanent
