Are you an experienced Social Worker looking to make a real difference in adoption services?This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dedicated regional team, providing high quality support to children and families across Merseyside. You'll be part of a collaborative service that brings together four local authority adoption teams to deliver the very best outcomes.This role is home based, with the expectation of travel for team meetings, visits, and other service requirements. The post is funded by Wirral Council on a secondment arrangement to Knowsley Council, who are the host authority.Benefits:

Responsibilities:
  • Undertake robust assessments for adoption support services.
  • Provide advice, support and interventions to adopters and children with a plan of adoption.
  • Deliver preparation training and ongoing support to prospective adopters.
  • Work closely with local authority teams to ensure children achieve timely and stable adoptive placements.
  • Assess adopters' support needs, while keeping the child's needs, wishes and long-term outcomes central to planning.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Significant post-qualifying experience within adoption, fostering, or children's social care.
  • Strong assessment, analysis, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across local authority boundaries.
