Pay Rate: £14.84 per hour (PAYE)
Essential Requirements: Full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle, and valid business insuranceAbout the RoleSanctuary Personnel is looking for a compassionate and proactive Outreach Support Worker to join a dynamic Rough Sleeper Team within Adult Services and Housing Solutions. This short-term opportunity begins on 7th July 2025 and runs for 8 weeks, with early morning shifts spread across weekdays and weekends.In this role, you’ll provide vital face-to-face engagement with individuals who are rough sleeping. Working alongside housing, healthcare, and social services professionals, you’ll offer practical support and advocacy to help people access accommodation, health services, and long-term support.What You’ll Be DoingCarrying out daily outreach visits to engage with people experiencing street homelessness.Offering advice and guidance to individuals around housing, benefits, and local services.Making appropriate referrals to mental health, substance misuse, safeguarding, and welfare teams.Working closely with partner agencies, including Housing Solutions and Adult Social Care.Collaborating with a Specialist Navigator supporting individuals with complex needs, such as mental health issues or contact with the criminal justice system.Supporting service users with tenancy preparation, budgeting, and personal wellbeing.Keeping accurate records and supporting continuous improvement within the service.What We’re Looking ForAt least 2 years of experience working with vulnerable adults, particularly those facing homelessness.In-depth understanding of the challenges associated with rough sleeping, including mental health, substance misuse, and safeguarding.Confident communicator with strong problem-solving and de-escalation skills.Flexible and resilient approach to working in unpredictable situations.A full UK driving licence, your own transport, and business-use insurance.Desired Skills & ExperiencePrior experience in homelessness services or local authority housing teams.Familiarity with the national Rough Sleeping Strategy.Ability to adapt communication and support styles to meet the needs of diverse individuals.Why Work with Sanctuary Personnel?Sanctuary Personnel connects skilled professionals to meaningful public sector roles across the UK.
