Job Overview:
The role is for a senior Electrical Engineer position within the Overhaul team, providing specialist technical knowledge, within the Rolling Stock project teams, with the primary objective of delivering safe, compliant, efficient, economic, and assured engineering solutions. The role will report to the Overhaul team lead to ensure the timely delivery of the team's engineering output.
The role is office based in central London with a requirement to work on-site as the job requires and may require travel both within the UK and abroad to support project delivery.

Knowledge:
  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering Degree or equivalent.
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent.
  • Thorough understanding of electrical and electronic engineering principles.
  • Knowledge of safety legislation and operating rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of LU business, its obligations, and priorities.
  • Knowledge of Rolling Sock, preferably London Underground trains, or similar operationally complex and safety conscious environment.
  • Knowledge of assets interfacing with Rolling Sock and the application of systems engineering.
  • Knowledge of maintenance techniques and good industry practice.
  • Awareness of risk management principles.
  • Awareness of project lifecycle principles and processes, ideally TfL Pathway.
  • Awareness of contractual arrangements.
Experience:
  • Experience of rail vehicle systems, preferably within London Underground.
  • Experience of Electrical and/or Electronic design, working at a senior level within an electrical engineering design team, under engineering governance and providing technical sign-off.
  • Experience of carrying out technical document review and analysis.
  • Experienced in the application of relevant Railway Standards commonly adopted for electrical systems on Rolling Sock.
  • Experience of testing, manufacturing, and operation of rolling stock system designs.
  • Experience of building relationships with, and influencing, a range of people at all levels within and outs de the organisation.
  • Experience of mentoring junior engineers.
