Acton will be expected to be on site a minimum of 3 days per week but this will be depending on workload demands. WFH days will be agreed in advance with Line Manager
experience of rolling stock engineering and/ or assurance experience. This individual must be able to review work instructions and other documentation and compare them to detailed engineering specifications or London Underground standards in a timely manner, ignoring extraneous information. Must be able to work under time constraints to ensure our Workshops team meet Project deadlines.Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with keen attention to detail at all times. This role will need to work closely with LU Central Engineers including Principal Engineers Local Engineering teams Quality and Compliance team members including our document controllers.In addition, we would like candidate who have signalling electrical or mechanical engineering bills of materials and SAP master Data in order to meet contract requirements and to investigate and develop solutions to a range of technical issues.Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible for the delivery of engineering solutions within Workshops for the overhaul of Signals Equipment, Rolling Stock Equipment & General Engineering.
  • Review and assessment of work instructions and supporting coaching of colleagues on new/improved processes.
  • Manage the resolution of all technical queries in respect to production, compliance, project delivery and material procurement.
  • Develop Bills of Materials in line with customer specifications, drawings and LUL standards.
  • Consult with internal/external technical experts as necessary.
  • Act as single point of contact for customers on technical issues.
  • Drive efficiency in line with the Maintenance Optimisation Team
  • Ensure documentation produced by local manufacturing engineers is reviewed and technical content is assured.
Skills, Knowledge & ExperienceSkills
  • A high level of numerical and analytical ability is required along with well-developed communication (written and verbal), negotiating and inter-personal skills.
  • Computer literate, able to effectively use spreadsheets and project planning software such as Microsoft Project and/or Primavera.
  • Commercial Acumen.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
