This pivotal role involves supervising students in the classroom during the short-term absence of their teacher, ensuring they remain focused, engaged, and on-task. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lesson plans, managing classroom behaviour effectively, and fostering a positive and productive learning atmosphere.The SchoolSituated in Leeds, a well-established and highly respected secondary school offers a vibrant and inclusive learning environment.   • Experience working with young people in an educational or similar setting.
  • A good standard of education, with GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • An enhanced DBS check or a willingness to undergo one.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervising students in the classroom, ensuring a safe and orderly environment.
  • Delivering pre-prepared work to students and ensuring they complete tasks.
  • Managing classroom behaviour in line with the school's policy.
  • Responding to student questions and providing support as needed.
  • Taking the register and reporting on attendance.
  • Providing feedback to the absent teacher about the lesson's progress.
  • Administering first aid if required (training provided).
  • Supervising students during break and lunch duties as part of the school's staff.
  • Following all school policies and procedures.
  • Promoting a positive learning culture and encouraging student engagement.
