Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-timeAre you a caring, patient, and committed individual passionate about supporting children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs?GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic Behaviour Support Assistant to join schools in the Rotherham area. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, this role provides the opportunity to work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them develop positive attitudes, self-regulation, and essential social skills.Responsibilities as a Behaviour Support Assistant:
  • Support pupils with behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties.
  • Implement strategies to encourage positive behaviour and self-regulation.
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to provide individualised support.
  • Encourage pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist with maintaining a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with parents and colleagues to support pupils’ holistic development.
Requirements for Behaviour Support Assistant:
  • Experience supporting children with SEMH or additional needs is desirable.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and observation skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to behaviour management.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
  • A CV covering the last 10 years of employment history, with any gaps explained.
