Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-timeAre you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning?GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and nurturing Behaviour Support Assistant to join schools in Rotherham. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, this role is ideal for individuals who are confident, calm under pressure, and committed to helping young people succeed both emotionally and academically.Responsibilities as a Behaviour Support Assistant:
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for students displaying challenging behaviour.
  • Assist with the implementation of tailored behaviour intervention strategies.
  • Build positive relationships that foster trust, confidence, and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to promote inclusive learning environments.
  • Promote emotional regulation and resilience in line with school policies.
Requirements for Behaviour Support Assistant:
  • Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural challenges.
  • Be calm, empathetic, and resilient under pressure.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to de-escalate conflict.
  • Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
  • A full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
