School website:SummarySt Bartholomew's CE VA Primary School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed admin assistant to join our wonderful school team as we strive to create a working environment that provides our pupils with the opportunity to shine. St Bartholomew's is in the small town of Great Harwood, in East Lancashire and is easily accessible being 5 minutes from the M65 and approximately 20 minutes from most major towns in the area.We are looking for someone who:
  • will be able to be the first point of contact for all staff, pupils and visitors, providing an efficient and welcoming reception environment and dealing effectively with all enquiries.
  • will provide an efficient and effective administrative service including distribution and dispatch of post and dealing with general enquiries from staff, pupils and visitors.
  • has excellent communication skills both orally and in writing together with the ability to respond to a variety of audiences and stakeholders.
  • has excellent organisational skills, including the ability to use own initiative and be proactive in the management of own workload.
  • has excellent IT skills with experience.
  • has the ability to work well in a team and to stay calm.
  • has an understanding of an educational environment and the needs of pupils in the 4‐11 age range.
  • has an ability to empathise with the Christian ethos of the school and the progress and success of the pupils.
  • has an awareness of some of the key developments in education.
  • has the ability to establish and maintain confidential, caring and sensitive relationships with school, pupils and parents
  • has a great sense of humour

  • GCSE Grade C or Level 2 equivalent in English and Maths
Desirable Qualifications

  • Further Qualifications and/or studies relevant to the age range Full and active member of a church in membership of Churches together in England
Essential Experience
  • ICT competence to include: word processing, mail-merge and spreadsheets, and a willingness to learn specific software
