We're looking for a Senior Test Development Engineer to join our team and help shape the future of advanced defence and aerospace systems.About the RoleAs a Senior Test Development Engineer, you'll take ownership of test equipment design across board, sub-system, and full system levels. You'll be responsible for the design, manufacture, verification, validation, and long-term technical support of our test systems - ensuring our complex hardware functions flawlessly.What You'll BringEssential Skills & ExperienceStrong background in test software designDeep knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuit designAbility to produce high-quality technical documentationProven success managing designs into productionExcellent troubleshooting and system integration support skillsMust be eligible for MOD Security Clearance (minimum SC level)Highly DesirableSignificant industry experience in test developmentProficiency with Mentor Graphics toolsUnderstanding of PXI/LXI test architecturesKnowledge of Measurement Uncertainty in test designExperience with NI LabView, TestStand, CVI, and C#Design of mixed-signal circuits and high-speed serial networksAppreciation for RF electronics and power supply design️ Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design of test equipment for circuit cards, sub-assemblies, and systemsMentor and guide junior engineers, while upholding engineering excellenceCollaborate across disciplines to define system interfaces and test protocolsDevelop and validate test hardware/software to ensure performance and reliabilitySupport production and manage lifecycle of test systems, including obsolescenceParticipate in design reviews, project planning, and compliance initiativesBe a go-to technical expert and interface with suppliers and customersChampion safety, ethics, and continuous improvement across all engineering activitiesWhat We OfferBenefitsCompetitive salary + discretionary bonus25 days annual leave + bank holidays (+ option to buy/sell 5 days)10.5% company pension contributionPrivate medical insurance & life assurance (x6 salary)Flexible benefits incl.
