We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Portsmouth. This full-time role will involve working closely with teaching staff to support students across a range of subjects and abilities, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.About the School:
Located in Southampton, the school caters to students aged 11 to 16 and is known for its inclusive and welcoming ethos. With a strong emphasis on teamwork, high teaching standards, and staff development, the school offers a collaborative environment where all staff are valued and supported. Onsite parking is available for staff.Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in the delivery of lessons and learning activities
- Provide classroom assistance and supervision of students
- Offer one-to-one or small group support when required
- Help maintain a safe, organised, and positive learning environment
- Support pupils in their academic, social, and emotional development
- Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and resources
- Record and report student progress to teaching staff as required
- Take part in school events, activities, and team planning meetings
- Experience working with young people in an educational or youth setting is desirable
- A positive, patient, and proactive approach
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- A commitment to supporting the educational development of students
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. in education or child development) are beneficial but not essential
- Full-time, term-time position
