- Have 24-hour responsibility for the provision of clinical care and standards in the department
- Responsible for co-coordinating and make effective use of staff, supervise staff and ensure training is maintained.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and provide clinical leadership for staff.
- Act as a role model and leader to nursing staff
- Ensure cost effective use of resources

- Current NMC Registration
- Minimum 2 years' Band 6 experience
- Minimum of 12 months experience in staff management
- Mentorship and preceptorship skills and experience
- Management qualification
- Post registration course
- Established relationships working with the MDT.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Proven communication skills (written, non-verbal & verbal)
- Analyses problems & implements effective & appropriate solutions
