This is a full-time position, starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be the backbone of the Food and Nutrition department, providing essential support to both staff and students.   • Experience in a similar role within a school
  • A strong understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations.
  • A valid enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.

  • Food Safety and Hygiene: A comprehensive understanding of food safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a clean environment.
  • Organisation and Planning: The ability to effectively plan and prepare for multiple lessons simultaneously.
  • Resourcefulness: Skilled in sourcing ingredients and managing stock efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in following recipes, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Interpersonal Skills: The ability to build positive relationships with both staff and students.
  • Adaptability: The ability to adjust to a dynamic environment and changing lesson plans.
Responsibilities:
  • Resource Management: Prepare and organise ingredients, equipment, and resources for all Food and Nutrition lessons.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain accurate stock levels, manage orders, and ensure efficient use of budget for purchasing supplies.
  • Health and Safety: Uphold and enforce strict health and safety and hygiene standards within the food technology rooms.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Carry out routine checks, cleaning, and maintenance of all kitchen equipment and appliances.
  • Lesson Support: Provide practical assistance to the teacher and students during lessons and demonstrations.
  • Administrative Tasks: Handle tasks such as recipe scaling, printing resources, and maintaining departmental records.
  • Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of food for teacher demonstrations and class practicals.
  • Cleaning and Tidying: Ensure the food rooms and equipment are kept clean, tidy, and ready for use.
  • Waste Management: Implement efficient strategies to minimise food waste and ensure proper disposal.
  • Safeguarding: Be aware of and comply with all safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring a safe environment for all pupils.
