The Clinical Capacity Manager has a key role in maintaining the ED target of 95% of patients being seen and treated, admitted or discharged within 4 hours by focusing on patient pathway delay, intervene and escalate where necessary to maintain patient safety, care, quality and patency of patient pathways. The Clinical Capacity Manager will ensure flow allows for timely movement of patients through all admission portals, thus supporting ambulance offloads.Intervention may include actions to prevent delays, for example chasing results, transport and discharge outcomes. The post-holder may be required to assess the patient's wellbeing using acquired experience and clinical knowledge and work closely with clinicians, ward teams and Divisional Teams in order to get the best outcome for patients in complex situations.Main duties of the jobThe Clinical Capacity Manager has expert knowledge of patient pathways within the NHS, they support and deputise for the On Call Manager out of hours .
