This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils and help them reach their full potential in both academic and personal development.As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide targeted assistance to children with a range of special educational needs. You will play a vital role in creating an inclusive and supportive environment, ensuring each pupil feels valued and encouraged in their learning journey.Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support for pupils with SEN.
- Assist in implementing individual learning plans tailored to students’ needs.
- Support classroom activities and adapt resources to aid learning.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote social and emotional development.
- Monitor and record pupils’ progress, reporting back to teachers and parents.
- Help create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and external specialists to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
- CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare/Teaching Assistance, or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working with children, ideally in an SEN environment.
- Knowledge of strategies to support children with diverse learning needs.
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting child welfare.
- Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
