- Lead and manage the estimating and tendering function from enquiry to submission.
- Develop and implement best-in-class pricing strategies, risk models, and bid templates.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate, commercially viable tenders.
- Review pipeline opportunities and contribute to go/no-go decisions with senior leaders.
- Work closely with Sales, Commercial, and Delivery teams to ensure bids are robust and winnable.
- Build and lead a high-performing team of estimators and bid coordinators.
- Introduce systems, processes, and governance to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Act as a key interface with clients during tender clarification and negotiation stages.
- Track market pricing, benchmark data, and competitor activity to inform future bids.
- Demonstrable experience in estimating, tendering, or preconstruction leadership roles within utilities, civils, or infrastructure.
- Proven success in securing multi-million-pound contracts and managing high-volume tender pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of DNO/ICP frameworks and multi-utility contracting models.
- Demonstrable experience creating and improving tendering processes and tools.
- Exceptional commercial acumen with attention to detail and cost modelling.
- Confidence leading a team and working cross-functionally across technical and operational stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and reporting skills.
