LOCATIONLondon & South East KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOur client is a growing ICP (Independent Connection Provider) on a mission to deliver outstanding multi-utility solutions to residential, commercial, industrial, and renewables clients.We’re looking for a driven, experienced Head of Tendering to lead their estimating and tendering function across MU and Power Infrastructure projects.You’ll oversee the full estimating lifecycle - from pricing strategy and risk modelling through to bid submission and handover - while building scalable systems, processes, and team capability to support their growth. This is a critical leadership role with real scope to shape how they bid, price, and win work.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the estimating and tendering function from enquiry to submission.
  • Develop and implement best-in-class pricing strategies, risk models, and bid templates.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate, commercially viable tenders.
  • Review pipeline opportunities and contribute to go/no-go decisions with senior leaders.
  • Work closely with Sales, Commercial, and Delivery teams to ensure bids are robust and winnable.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of estimators and bid coordinators.
  • Introduce systems, processes, and governance to improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Act as a key interface with clients during tender clarification and negotiation stages.
  • Track market pricing, benchmark data, and competitor activity to inform future bids.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Demonstrable experience in estimating, tendering, or preconstruction leadership roles within utilities, civils, or infrastructure.
  • Proven success in securing multi-million-pound contracts and managing high-volume tender pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of DNO/ICP frameworks and multi-utility contracting models.
  • Demonstrable experience creating and improving tendering processes and tools.
  • Exceptional commercial acumen with attention to detail and cost modelling.
  • Confidence leading a team and working cross-functionally across technical and operational stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and reporting skills.
