Salary: £86 – £100 per day (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-timeDo you have the patience, empathy, and resilience to support young learners with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?GSL Education are currently seeking a full-time Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant to work with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support. As a Primary SEMH TA, you will empower vulnerable pupils by offering care, structure, and emotional guidance in their daily school life.As a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Support emotional regulation, self-esteem, and behavioural development.
  • Assist with off-site learning and pupil transport where necessary.
  • Build trusting relationships with pupils, families, and staff.
  • Promote inclusion and wellbeing in a nurturing primary environment.
To be a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Have previous experience supporting children with SEMH, trauma, or behavioural difficulties.
  • Be calm, nurturing, and able to de-escalate challenging situations effectively.
  • Must hold a full UK driving licence, have access to a vehicle, and valid business insurance.
  • Be committed to making a positive impact in a child’s educational journey.
  • Have an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps over the past 10 years.
