Salary: Up to £60,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)in Stepney Green is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.We have an opportunity for a Infection Prevention and Control Lead to join their team of staff in the Nursing department.This is a Full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.Duties of this role include:
- Lead on the implementation and monitoring of the hospital’s infection prevention and control strategy.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and guidance (e.g. CQC, HIS, HTM 01-05, and national IPC standards).
- Act as the primary point of contact for all IPC matters and provide regular reports to senior management and governance committees.
- Oversee surveillance of healthcare-associated infections, antibiotic resistance, and outbreaks.
- Investigate and report IPC incidents, supporting root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of action plans.
- Carry out regular audits and risk assessments, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
- Registered Nurse (Adult) or relevant healthcare professional with active NMC/HCPC registration.
- Significant experience in infection prevention and control.
- Strong knowledge of current IPC legislation, national guidance, and audit standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence practice across all staff levels.
- Experience in incident investigation, audit, and delivering staff training.
- Postgraduate qualification or specialist training in Infection Prevention and Control.
- Experience in managing outbreaks and supporting external inspections (e.g. CQC).
- Experience in private healthcare or multi-site organisations.
- Participation in IPC-related research, quality improvement, or public health projects.
