- Educated to degree level or equivalent qualification / training and experience
- Conflict Resolution Training Trainer (CRT) qualified in the national learning outcomes
- Physical Intervention Training trainer (PIST)
- Understanding of National, local and specialist policies and their potential impact on violence and aggression issues.
- Evidence of post registration professional development
- Detailed knowledge of best practice and governance together with the ability to disseminate knowledge and information to staff
- Adult teaching qualification
- Accreditation with National Federation of Personal Safety (NFPS)
- Previous experience of delivering PMVA/VPR and Physical Intervention training skills in an Acute NHS setting.
- Evidence of responding to feedback from training delegates
- Experience of training and facilitation for a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Highly developed understanding of educational theory and practice, particularly in relation to adult learners, experiential and reflective learning, and a commitment to educational quality.
- Experience of project management and the ability to coordinate activities to meet challenging objectives
- Experience of working in complex management structures and an ability to lead and work in multi- disciplinary environments.
- Evidence of strong teaching and facilitation skills and highly-developed educational practice
- Routinely applies evidence-based research to educational practice across a range of settings
- Good IT skills particularly in the use of MS Office applications, to development presentations and reports.
- Able to cope with competing priorities and heavy and complex workloads.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (including persuasive, negotiating and training skills); able to work with clinical and management colleagues at all levels across a range of organisations.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Evidence of communicating with difficult to reach stakeholders.
- Displays enthusiastic, creative and innovative nature.
- Able to adapt the style of training delivery based on the situation.
- Confidence to act on own initiative and take ideas forward.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Being familiar with, and adhering to Trust policies and guidance on infection prevention and control.
- Completing all required training and education (both via e-learning and face to face) on infection prevention and control.
- Including infection prevention and control as an integral part of your continuous personal/professional development and included in your annual appraisal
- Taking personal responsibility so far as is reasonably practicable, in helping ensure that effective prevention and control of health care associated infections is embedded into everyday practice and applied consistently.
- Willingness to work flexible hours on occasion.
