A rare opportunity has arisen to join the Velcourt team as farm manager on this exceptional 2,400 hectare arable farm, growing a range of combinable crops, sugar beet, vining peas, forage maize and environmental crops. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the farm business including developing and implementing operational plans, all aspects of crop production and agronomy, financial management including budgets and forecasts, reporting to and liaising with the farm owners, and integration with the wider estate activities. Full support from the wider Velcourt management team will be given.Essential requirements:
  • Excellent team leadership and people management skills
  • Strong experience of managing a large scale unit
  • Budget management and familiar with excel budgets/accounts/Omnia software
  • A track record of consistently high achievement and attention to detail
  • BASIS and FACTS qualified (preferred)
  • Full driving licence
You will need to demonstrate a high degree of commercial awareness and an appreciation of the challenges and opportunities that present themselves to a farming business such as this. You will be expected to contribute to the short-term and long-term strategic plan of the business and ensure that these are delivered. You will be responsible for developing strong working relationships with key stakeholders and mentoring the farm team.As a manager within Velcourt, you will receive on-going personal development, training and support as necessary.
